Joe Huff played for Castle High School and his team had undefeated regular seasons in 1982 and 1983, won a State Championship in 1982 and was the team captain and Defensive MVP 1983. Joe was USA Today’s Top 10 Ranking (8th in 1982 Final Poll); All-SIAC 1982-1983; AP and UPI All-State 1982, 1983. Joe earned an athletic scholarship at Indiana University as a walk-on after the third game of season as a freshman. He was a four-year starter and letterman, starting as outside linebacker in 3 bowl games – 1986 All-American, 1987 Peach, and 1988 Liberty. Joe was team captain 1987-1988; Defensive MVP of Liberty Bowl; First Team All-Big Ten and Third Team All-American 1988; Team Defensive MVP 1988. Joe later signed with Indianapolis Colts for two years but had career ending injuries.
