After playing at North High School the 6 ft 4 swing man, Ron Hancock, found a home at Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia. Lighting up the Peach Tree Conference for four years. Hancock played for the Pirates from 1970-74 and is the sixth all-time leading scorer in Armstrong State men’s basketball history, amassing 1,318 points in his four years. He was an all-South Atlantic Conference honoree in 1973 as well as a two-time Ashley Dearing Award recipient in his career. Hancock still ranks among the Top 10 in Armstrong State history in career steals (128) and goals made (540).  Ron was elected to the Armstrong State University Athletic HOF in 2016.
