EVANSVILLE, IN – June 19, 2018 – The first-ever Bluegrass World Series, a weeklong baseball tournament featuring 68 MLB All-Stars and ex-Big Leaguers, will take place at the Louisville Slugger Field in Louisville, KY, July 30 through August 4. Anyone interested in attending the event with their team or family who uses the code GESHOF when purchasing tickets will help the Greater Evansville Sports Hall of Fame raise money for the construction of the Hall of Fame, set to break ground later this year. 50% of proceeds from the Bluegrass World Series ticket sales will be donated to the Greater Evansville Sports Hall of Fame whenever the coupon code is used.
“We’re excited for this opportunity to work with the Bluegrass World Series and raise funds for our Hall of Fame,” said Tim Turpin, Founder of the Greater Evansville Sports Hall of Fame. “It will be an exciting night for baseball fans of all ages. Bring your kids, your friends. Invite everyone you know and let’s help get the Greater Evansville Sports Hall of Fame built!”
The Bluegrass World Series gives retired MLB players the opportunity to once again play the game they’ve loved and lived for. The Louisville Stars team, a team entirely comprised of retired World Series Champions, National Baseball Hall of Famers, and other retired MLB All-Stars, will compete with area semi-pro teams. Some of these retired baseball players include Chipper Jones, Johnny Bench, Johnny Damon, David Ross, Josh Beckett, and more.
The Bluegrass World Series will double as a great team event or father/son trip while also helping fund the Greater Evansville Sports Hall of Fame.
